Commentary:

Layout: This is a lovely track. It’s currently ranked as the #2 public in Alabama. I can see that, but I think there are a number of lower rated courses that I’ve played in other areas that I like more. Don’t get me wrong, I like this course, I just felt like the holes needed a bit more variation to really shine. For example, the day after playing this round I played at Farm Links. Now that is a truly exceptional design! Maybe even a 10. We’ll see here in a bit when I write it up and review my pics.

Conditions: The conditions were very solid. Not absolutely perfect, but nearly so. Solid 9/10.

The Staff: As with most courses, folks were nice, but not overly so. Once again, the folks out at Farm Links were just that much better even in this category.

Value: This is a more expensive round. All told, with tax, I think I came in around $160 for 18. Of course this includes range balls and a cart. But, with the course just a notch below perfect the value isn’t quite a 10 either.

Played here solo (though I got paired with a couple of other guys traveling to play here) during my son’s 13-year-old trip we took to see his friend in Tenessee + time in Georgia at the aquarium and six flags.

Scorecard: I’ve been playing quite well lately and though I did take one or two mulligans during my round this is a relatively honest scorecard: LINK

Here is a rubric for how I would interpret the TCS™

10 – Simply amazing, go play this a.s.a.p.! Are you on your way?!
9 – One of the best, just not spot on "perfect" in every way. Play It!
8 – One of the best courses in the area; well worth the trip to play.
7 – Worth a round if you are within a reasonable distance. Good conditions and interesting layout.
6 – An above average course that is worth your time if you're close by. Should provide a nice round.
5 – An average course. Decent layout, decent conditions, and the value hits the sweet spot. The one to play after work for a quick round. However, it lacks an overall wow factor.
4 – Below average, but moderately interesting in places.
3 – A poor course. Conditions are pretty bad but the cost of a round usually outweighs the conditions. Play with your friends who are too cheap to pay for a better round of golf.
2 – Bad, but playable. Play it when you need some practice before spending $$$ on a "better" course.
1 – A very bad course, but often has a deal you can't pass up (e.g., I have played a few like this; got 18 and a cart for only $5, yeah, I'd play about anything for that too).
0 – The only way I'd "play" this course if it was in my backyard and it was free. I mean who turns down a free "driving range" which is all that this "course" is good for, not for golf but to hit balls at and forget about.
