- Pace of Play: Slow!
Shon had a free GolfNow hot deal for 3 and he invited me along to play with him and his Dad. I woke up that morning with an itch on the right side of my throat, and thought “oh no, but I can’t back out on Shon he has already booked the round.” I went knowing I might be asking for trouble. After our one hour drive south to the course we arrived to find a two hour frost delay in effect. Our tee time was pushed way back and the course was busy with foursomes waiting to play. Upon arrival I knew it was going to be slow and the frost delay redoubled the slow round. The pro-shop also stuck a single with us (Dave). Dave drove 45-minutes to play otherwise I can’t imagine why he decided to stay and play. I started off okay, very hot and cold, but I wasn’t feeling like I was running at full capacity. By the turn my legs were starting to ache and I was just feeling drained. I toughed it out, but I was definitely getting sick! As I type this report it is now two days later. I slept most of yesterday having fully come down with what will go down on record as the worst flu I have experienced. My finally review is that I liked Wood Wind, it isn’t amazing, and I felt like I should have played better, but given my illness bias I would recommend it as a strong 6. Not one decimal place more.
